Manon and Phil's Winter Wedding at Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello - Ottawa Wedding Photographer

Manon and Phil met through mutual friends one night at a local bar. They had the same group of friends, but somehow had never met, until that one night! Fast forward to about 5 years down the road, and Phil decided to pop the question to Manon in front of the fire after a day of snowshoeing at the cottage. They got married almost exactly 1 year later, minus a day!

It was a beautiful but chilly January day, which was the perfect setting considering how they got engaged! It only made sense that their venue was a luxury log cabin in the woods: the one and only Fairmont Le Château Montebello, in Montebello Quebec.

The day started off with the girls getting ready in one of the rooms upstairs.

Besides the giant windows and abundance of natural light, I think the first thing my photographer's eyes noticed when I walked into the room was this MASSIVE chandelier!! Perfect for what ended up being one of my most favourite dress shots ever.

Ok... Confession time... I definitely LOVED the look of the carpet in the getting ready room. It obviously complimented Manon's shoes as well as Nat and Kenzie's bridesmaids' dresses... But I can't possibly be alone in thinking that it totally looks like the carpet in *gasp* The Shining?! Aaahh!!! (Click the underlined text and please tell me I'm not crazy!)
