There was something just around the corner for us all in the days after Tricia and Jason's engagement session, but don't worry, that's not what this post is about. Something I never thought I would see in my lifetime, but here we are in what turned out to be a global pandemic! Wow. It's weird even to just type that! Hours after photographing this lovely army couple's engagement session at the Canadian War Museum here in Ottawa, the world around us quickly started shutting down in an effort to slow down the spread of COVID-19. It's weird how we can go from celebrating life one moment, to suddenly being in a locked down city the next. Crazy, huh?

When it rains, it pours! The two came from out of town and they stayed in Ottawa to finalize their plans for their upcoming September wedding. Initially, we had planned to do their engagement session at Confederation Park, but the mid-March forecast called for rain and wind! We instead made our way over to the museum where they will be getting married in 6 months and we made the best of it.

Also, who knew that popping an engagement ring onto a tank could look so cool?! I love macro shots!

The rain ended up holding off though, at least for the most part. We snuck outside for a few photos, but we stayed warm indoors for the majority of their shoot.

I always make a point during sessions to ask my couples if there are any certain photos that they want to get during their session, or if they'd prefer to "go with the flow". Tricia, as a medical technician, requested a photo in front of the ambulance! Jason asked if we could get a photo with the jet. I made sure to make it happen!!

Congrats again Tricia and Jason on your engagement! Can't wait to see you two make it official in just a few short months!
